Art Clay Silver Level 1 Certification      

The level one course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of Art Clay.  The curriculum covers 9 different projects, teaching a

Experience using Metal Clay sheets, learn how versatile and easy it is to work with.   
With a fold here and a tuck there a beautiful .999% Fine Silver Origami Crane appears.  
Let  your Crane go for a dip in the Liver of Sulfur mixture and watch the beautiful colors
appear or buff and polish it to a high shine.

Collage Transfer Techniques         

In this class students will experiment with numerous mediums and techniques in image
transferring.  Image transfers ,on paper, fabric and other materials, can be added to you collage to give it depth and
add more interest.
We will be making a small booklet with directions and examples of the different techniques.  If you have an art journal
bring it with and put the samples right in your journal.    

Things to bring:  toner images, magazine images, scissors, small bowl for water,
spray bottle for water, 1 or 2 small brushes for glue.

Art Clay Silver Introductory Class

Texture plates, mold making & carving                   

If you are using commercial molds, rubber stamps and texture plates, you are not making jewelry unique to you.  Create unique and
original pieces by making your own  molds, etc.  Do you have something form a loved one that has special meaning, a button, a scrap
of lace?   Why not learn to  turn it into Fine Silver jewelry.  In this class you will learn numerous different techniques for making your own
unique textures for your jewelry.  Each student will choose one of the techniques to make a pendant or earring charms.     

Cost    $145   includes materials, with lots of extras to take home to make more molds and texture plates
Basic Soldering with a small butane torch  

This is a great class for Metal Clay or Jewelry artists that want to take their work to the next level.   Students will learn several
different soldering techniques, fusing, how to make granules and how to  ball-up wire, using copper and sterling and fine silver.
You will learn how to make your own fancy head pins, solder jump rings closed and many more useful techniques.  In the last
class we will take all the little parts made practicing and construct a pair of earrings completely from scratch including your own fancy
earwires.  You will need to supply your own creme brulee torch (available at local stores), butane, safety glasses and a few other misc.
things you should be able to find around the house.  A supply list will be given at registration.

Faux Enameling with resins on Fine Silver Metal Clay  

Learn how to get the look of enamel on your metal clay pieces using a variety of different resins and coloring agents,
with out  the cost, equipment or time traditional enameling requires. Then learn how to add textural elements in the
resin, something you  can't do with enamels.   This is an easy way to add color and dimension to your work.

Microscope slide magnetic back pins                    

Take collage to a microscopic level.  Learn how to use alcohol inks for the base layer, then take portions of larger images,
small images and transparencies to build a collage.  Small charms add dimension and a copper foil boarder  that final touch.   
Magnetic pin backs not only insure it will stay were you put it, but they leave no holes and can be stuck on  the  refrigerator until
you want to wear it again.  I will have plenty of  collage images to choose from, bring some of your own if you would like to
personalize the pins.    Bring a small pair of scissors for detail cutting and tweezers.
